If you notice there is a trend of salt shakers disappearing from the fancier restaurants.  You would think it’s for health reasons but it’s actually because chefs don’t like the low quality of most table salts and that they want to control the amount of salt that goes into their dishes.  They are real chefs BTW.

It’s also to reduce the clutter and ‘ugliness’ of salt shakers.  Higher class restaurants also found if they used more expensive shakers they were always stolen.

So next time you go to a restaurant and there is no salt shaker be confident that whatever you are eaten has been properly spiced!
