According to some sources, the Easter bunny first arrived in America in the 1700s with German immigrants who settled in Pennsylvania and transported their tradition of an egg-laying hare called “Osterhase” or “Oschter Haws.” Their children made nests in which this creature could lay its colored eggs. Now the Easter Bunny has become a huge part of North American culture.   A lot of families will consider adding a bunny to their homes this Easter but there are some important things to consider.

With the proper care, domestic rabbits can live anywhere from 10-15 years of age (or more). Contrary to belief; rabbits are high maintenance animals which require a lot of attention and understanding to live a happy and healthy life and vet bills can be very expensive.

Here’s a quiz to help your family decide whether they are ready for a rabbit.
