A little exfoliation is supposed to be good for your skin so why do 98% of dermatologists suggest you toss the shower puffs in the trash immediately.

Apparently, after you use the puff to exfoliate your skin, the dead skins skills get trapped in the multiple layers of the puff’s material. And if  you leave that puff in the shower after you get your shower on, the humidity and the leftover warm water cause bacteria to grow within the puffy layers leading to yeast and mold growth developing a huge breeding ground in hours…disgusting!  Use the puff after you shave,   bacteria can get into the nicks and lead to some bad looking and feeling skin.

Don’t want to toss it?  Make sure you rinse the puff excessively to ensure all the dead skin is washed out.  Also remove it from humidity to dry, also replace the puff with a new one every couple of months. If you sense a bad smell  toss it right away.
