The Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General’s Independent Legal Advice for Sexual Assault Survivor’s Pilot Program but the program is great but currently restricted to residents of Toronto, Ottawa and Thunder Bay. To help fill the gap in Southwestern Ontario Beckett Personal Injury Lawyers announced the launch of The Survivors Advice Line (SAL) a pro-bono effort is aimed at providing equivalent access to free legal advice to survivors within Southwestern Ontario. Anyone within the 519 area code is eligible to access this program.

 The Survivors Advice Line (SAL) will be open to telephone, text or email inquiries, Monday to Friday, between the hours of 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. The aim is to provide survivors the flexibility of seeking the most convenient and confidential time and method of seeking assistance. The contact information is as follows:

In total 500 hours of pro-bono legal advice will be offered over the remainder of 2016. Referrals to both public and private agencies will also be available. Inquiries from outside the 519 area code region will be considered based upon availability of resources and overall response. The program is designed to assist survivors on their journey of justice & healing on an individual, case by case basis.
