Madonna opened up about her “near-death experience” last June during her Celebration Tour in Los Angeles, revealing that she was in an induced coma for four days due to a serious bacterial infection.

The pop icon expressed gratitude to her medical team, including Dr. David Agus, for her care during her recovery. Madonna shared that ‘God Was Saying, “You Wanna Come With Me?”‘ and that her first word upon waking up was “No,” indicating her strong will to survive.

“It was a bizarre thing to finally not feel like I was in control,” she told the audience of being sidelined by a bacterial infection that sent her to the ICU in June.
