A model of a Starfighter used in the first Star Wars movie is being auctioned…and the bidding will start at $400,000.

The prop was used in the Death Star explosion scene and was thought to be lost for decades. The rare find was discovered in the late modelmaker Greg Jein’s belongings.

The model has motorized wings, wired lights, scorch marks, and the dome of a mini R2 unit.

“Without question, this Hero X-wing miniature represents the pinnacle of ‘Star Wars’ artifacts to ever reach the market,” the auctioneer wrote. The auction will take place mid-October. (Insider)
