In a new interview with Guitar World magazine, founding guitarist Mike McCready recently disclosed that their next album, the follow-up to 2020’s “Gigaton,” is nearly complete. While it’s not expected to drop this year, McCready expressed confidence in the album’s progress.

“It’s almost ready,” he revealed, acknowledging that there are still a few minor adjustments to be made.

He credited producer Andrew Watt, who also worked on Eddie Vedder’s 2022 solo album “Earthling,” for injecting fresh energy and a youthful perspective into their creative process.

McCready elaborated, saying, “Andrew really pushed us to our limits. Coming from outside our longstanding musical world, he challenged us in ways we haven’t experienced in our three-decade journey. We’ve honed our band’s dynamics over the years, but every now and then, we benefit from outside perspectives and questions. Andrew did a fantastic job in that regard.”
