The rest of this week is shaping up to be a hot and humid one. Humidex values reaching near 40 degrees over the next few days has prompted a special weather statement from Environment Canada.

They call for a relatively hot and humid airmass that has reached the area will remain in place through Friday. Maximum afternoon temperatures near 30 degrees and humidex values in the high thirties are forecast for most areas with slightly cooler temperatures near the shores of the Great Lakes.

Minimum overnight temperatures are forecast in the 17 to 20 degree range, thus providing some relief from the heat during the overnight hours.

Environment Canada says a cold front Friday night will bring in cooler temperatures and lower humidity for the weekend.
