Fathers Day means different things to different people.  Whether it’s taking dad out for brunch, sparking up the bbq for a cookout, giving dad a homemade card or just remembering a father who is no longer with us but this year thanks to Westjet, it meant finally being together surrounded by friends and family during a difficult time.

Westjet is well know for it’s viral videos that bring the tears and for fathers day 2017, they have outdone themselves.   The Hunt family, from Clarenville, N.L., was featured in a WestJet video posted on Facebook Wednesday morning. By afternoon, that video had reached more than half a million people. Troy and Neda Hunt have been staying at the Ronald McDonald House in Toronto for more than two months while their son, 13-year-old Darian, receives treatment for leukaemia. In order to keep their daughter Kaiya’s life as normal as possible, she stayed behind in NL during Darian’s treatment which means the family has been complete in months.  Troy is also the coach of Darian’s hockey team in Clarenville and has been missed by teammates and friends.

Westjet decided to make the Hunt families Fathers Day extra special this year but be warned, you will need a box of tissue if you watch this video.
