GrammyPerformers

2017 Grammy Awards (hosted by James Corden) go down Sunday. Not all performers are confirmed but here is What To Expect so far.

What To Expect

  •  Prince and George Michael tribute. Grammy Awards pride themselves on “unforgettable tribute segments” that try to “convey the full depth of an artist’s cultural impact in a single performance” so this should be interesting. John Legend and Cynthia Erivo appear to be involved BUT Grammy Awards are intentionally leaving this as a surprise for Sunday.

  • Adele.
    • Grammy organizers apologized for Adele 2013’s performance so this is sort of like a make-good.

  • A ‘very blonde’ Katy Perry.
    • Credible” news outlets everywhere stopped the presses when Katy Perry dyed her hair ‘very blonde’ earlier this week. No word on what other artistic risks she might be taking for her Grammy performance.

  • Daft Punk with The Weeknd*
    • Daft’s performance with Kanye was one of the coolest Grammy moments ever. This has the potential to top that. Don’t miss.

  • Chance the Rapper.
    • Underground-darling turned mainstream-hero. This is Chance’s Grammy debut and he is the “first artist to ever be nominated for a streaming-only album”.

  • Bruno Mars.
    • Some sort of Prince tribute. Bruno isn’t super-hyped right now but has the ability to steal the show. His 2013 Grammy performance made me a fan.

  • A Tribe Called Quest and Anderson .Paak –
    • Another strange collaboration. Dave Grohl was suppose to be on drums but that appears to have fallen through. Anderson .Paak is suppose to be incredible.

  • Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban.
    • Another bizarre collab-oh wait…This one makes sense. Country on Country. That said, the pair will perform country-disco song ‘The Fighter’.

  • Alicia Keys and Maren Morris.
    • Pop collaboration between Alicia Keys and dunno.

Lukas Graham

  • He sing that ‘7 Years Old’ song and probably will on Sunday. Should be a tear-jerker.

Gary Clark, Jr

  • Guitar virtuoso back for a 3rd straight year.

William Bell

  • The 77 year old will perform and is nominated for the first time.
