Before you carve a pumpkin for the 30th year in a row… try something new.
Ditch the pumpkin for a super scary pineapple instead.

Yup.. we said pineapple.

Pineapples are actually a surprisingly awesome alternatives to pumpkins. Their texture is freaky, they already have funky hair, and they look great with a candle inside them. Oh.. and they smell nice and the insides taste better than pumpkin so you can snack as you cut.

Here are a few options to try out this new tradition.

OPTION 1: Hollow out the pineapple from the BACK.

STEP 1 – Cover your work area in newspaper to catch the juicy drips and get a sharp knife.

STEP 2 – Cut out a square of the back (like Mr Potato Head has)

STEP 3 – Hollow out the square of the pineapple

STEP 4 – Cut a funny face into your pineapple

OPTION 2: Cut off it’s head and core like in the video here.
