Like any tragedy, distracted-driving accidents don’t “just happen to other people”.

If you handle a cell phone whilst driving, your risk isn’t just to yourself and your passengers, but other road users, pedestrians, families, and communities.

Distracted driving has affected London Ontario, and is close to home in many communities across Canada.

In the Summer of 2009, Josh Field was preparing to begin classes at Fanshawe College, in the Broadcast Television and Radio program when he was involved in a fatal accident.

His family have, since, established the Josh Field Support Network to support other affected families and raise awareness of the dangers of distracted driving.

This short documentary by the LHSC and his family and friends, tells Josh’s story.
