Starting Labour Day, drivers will be able to register their vehicles for overnight parking on most City streets with a new overnight parking pass system.

free-parking

A maximum of 15 free passes may be issued per vehicle license plate and can be obtained online through the City’s website, by phone at 519-661-4537 or in person at the Parking Services Office, 824 Dundas Street. Passes for multiple days and multiple license plates may be obtained with one submission.

Until November 1st, passes may be obtained in advance or day of as needed. Between November 1st and April 15th passes will not be issued more than 48 hours in advance to help mitigate weather concerns. During times of inclement weather or service implications such as road clearing, pass holders will be notified via email should their pass be revoked.

“Drivers are reminded that all other parking restrictions remain in effect, including prohibited parking and stopping areas, fire routes and the requirement to remove all vehicles from the street during snow clearing operations,” says Annette Drost, Manager, Municipal Law Enforcement Services.
Overnight parking cannot occur in locations where parking is otherwise prohibited or restricted, such as in front of fire hydrants, on boulevards or front lawns or on streets that are identified as exempt from on-street parking. A complete list of those streets is available online at www.london.ca.

Overnight parking passes will be available until Victoria Day, at which time the overnight parking restriction is lifted.
