SNL will be paying homage to Prince tonight

Nicely done SNL. Instead of rerunning the Chris Hemsworth/Chance the Rapper episode, Saturday Night Live will run a tribute episode that will look back on Prince’s most memorable performances over the years.

Goodnight Sweet Prince, an SNL tribute to the icon, will air tonight.

Prince’s appearances on SNL were few and far between, but like the man himself, they were unforgettable. Prince used to hold the record for the longest time span between musical guest appearances on SNL. There was a 25 year gap between his first appearance in 1981 and his second in 2006. This record was broken by Elton John when he appeared in 2011.
